I have thought about where I went wrong with her during high-school. I have thought, that maybe, if I listened more than judged, she'd be better off. I suppose as we are so alike, I feel as though I have betrayed her in my thoughts back then... She and I were two lost souls in a world that didn't want our problems. We didn't want our problems. And little did we know our problems were outcries, meant to be heard and cared for; not swept under the rug and ignored...
I think sadly on her now. Not in a pitiful way. In a way that... I wish I'd have just been wiser, just been more understanding, had my head a little less shoved up my own ass. That I had listened a little more and talked a little less. She needed someone to listen, not advice. Someone that would have just hugged her and told her she was who she was, and not tell her she needed to change or help herself. Granted, we both needed plenty of help, but in our
states of mind, we needed true, unconditional love. That which would embrace us, not shame us. Would smile gently and hold closely like a loving mother her dearest child.
I suppose I look back with regret... I suppose I feel the urge to call her, and tell her all of this, and await her reply, "What the hell are you talking about, Jo?" And mine, "Oh... Nothing... How are you?"
Ah well... I was going to make it a short novel but I've decided to make a graphic novel instead because I'm too detailed and take too much time with dialog or description in my writing. It just works better drawn because I can describe everything visually and have constant dialog if need be with out wasting too much time. As of right now I have two pages, the second I'm still adding the dialog to and haven't started on a new page. Its coming along though, slowly but surely.

In this first page I've introduced some minor and major characters. The first panel contains a one-act/and or not really involved at all character Dwain, the apartment maintenance worker. Next to him if not completely obvious is the main character's father Mr. Moss/Arther. In the remaining panels, the boy is the main character, Danial Moss. The girl is the, I suppose you would say... Co-starring main character? Can't think of the bookie term, Cecilia Moore. THE PLOT THICKENS.

P.S. Copy writers will be shot. (This is dated for when it was posted and this is the only place I have shown this. I suppose me drawing can be considered my main pleasure in the arts department, but I'm also an avid photographer, I vlogger/video maker, dabbling in stop-motion film, I used to sculpt but not so much anymore, a musician, and a writer.

I am on the verge of and in a few days will be 18. I live in the Chicago area and have my whole life, but I do enjoy travel. I plan this fall to attend community college and get my general credits in and after two years transfer to a university with a nice music department so that I might obtain a masters degree in music and go on to music journalism. (I just want to ride the bandwagon and get wasted with rockers - kidding... Heh...)

But enough about me, more about art. I hope to be posting a lot and currently I'm working on a graphic novel. I have two pages completed. It does not sound like much but I do everything by hand and it is a lot of work, TRUST ME. So I will hopefully be posting that on a regular basis just as soon as my scanner is hooked back up.
As of now I have nothing more I can go into, so I hope that I will soon have much to post and discuss.

Toodles.
~Jo
